International Management student honored for outstanding performance

On November 1, the Wiesbaden-based business association BGW presented its annual award for outstanding performance that comes with a prize money of EUR 2,500. The  Dean of the Wiesbaden Business School, Prof. Dr. Till Dannewald, welcomed all those attending.

The 2022 recipient of the award is Celine Brohm, graduate of the bachelor program International Management. The board of trustees not only recognized her outstanding study performance, but also her extensive volunteer work. Alongside her studies, Celine Brohm volunteered for the Make-a-Wish® Deutschland organization dedicated to fulfilling special wishes to children and youths with critical illnesses. In addition, she volunteered as German teacher for refugees and immigrants in a university project by the Competence & Career Center and for the Wiesbaden-based student consulting organization wi3 consulting e. V.

”I am so grateful for receiving the BGW award. At RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, I felt like more than just a number, I got a lot of individual support and assistance”, says the winner. Brohm lives in Madrid and will soon join Boston Consulting Group in the Spanish capital. During her studies, Brohm started building her international ties. She had to cancel her semester abroad in St. Petersburg due to the pandemic, but successfully completed an internship in Paris.

Intercultural communication

Prof. Dr. Marina Grusevaja, advisor of Brohm’s thesis on rare earth elements and digitalization, praised her intense curiosity and intelligent questions and pointed out that Brohm passed the task of such a complex topic with flying colors. The head of the BGW, Klaus Hoffmann, not only highlighted the winner’s grades, but also her language skills – an essential skill for intercultural communication.

After the ceremony, the students of the Wiesbaden Business School had the chance to talk to business partners about internship and employment opportunities.
