What is it?
Engineers help shape the future in almost every area of life and their work ensures quality of life and prosperity. There is great demand for engineers in industry, research and administration today. The speed of technological change on the one hand and the complexity of modern systems, equipment and devices on the other call for engineers with extensive scientific and technical knowledge as well as specific technical skills.
In the degree program Interdisciplinary Engineering, you learn both: In the first two semesters, you will acquire fundamental knowledge of mathematics, science and technology, which brings you up to speed on current and future technologies. In addition, your personal profile will be enhanced by subjects such as technical English, professional ethics and technological impact assessment. The third semester is designed as an opportunity for personal orientation. By attending orientation courses and completing a project, you will be able to develop an idea of the professional areas you want to focus on and to prepare for the specialization phase of the degree program. The area of specialization is selected after the third semester. You can choose between a range of contemporary topics: International Technical Development, Mechatronics, Medical Engineering and Smart Energy Management. In each of these areas of specialization, students are trained to become specialists in future-oriented engineering disciplines. Each specialization phase concludes with the 7th semester, which includes an internship and a bachelor's thesis.
