What is it?
Have you always wanted to know how a camera or a high dynamic range monitor works, or what compression methods such as MP3 or HEVC are all about? In our Media Engineering degree program, you will acquire engineering skills with a focus on applications in the media industry. Topics covered during your studies include IPTV, digital cinema, mobile TV, connected TV, studio technology, audio and video compression and vehicle environment recognition systems. You will learn how media technology systems work and how they can be further improved.
We carry out numerous projects together with industrial partners which you can work on as part of a project or your thesis. A 16-week industrial internship is also included in the degree program.
What can I do with it?
Media engineers develop software, program microprocessors, plan, analyze and monitor productions or the distribution of video signals via the internet (IPTV). They design the media technology for new products in the automotive industry or manage projects to introduce new communication technologies in commercial enterprises. The employment prospects for graduates are excellent.
