Professor Ruppel is Fellow of the SMPTE
The Board of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) has appointed 18 new Fellows, including Professor Wolfgang Ruppel from the Faculty of Engineering at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences. The media engineer was honored for his many years of commitment and contributions to the SMPTE.
“I am delighted that the SMPTE has recognized my work for the media industry by awarding me the Fellowship today. At the same time, I would like to thank all my professional colleagues, companies and institutions who have contributed to or supported my projects," said Professor Ruppel. The award ceremony took place during the SMPTE 2020 Annual Technical Conference, which was hosted virtually this year.
The SMPTE is an international organization from the field of professional film and video technology based in White Plains, New York. It is involved in the development of norms and standards (e.g., HDTV, video formats, etc.), in research, and in networked communication and training in the context of motion images.
