What aspect of your research fascinates you the most?

Being able to work on a current and innovative topic from start to finish with scientific depth is a privilege. Having the opportunity to conduct research in dynamic specialist disciplines after many years in the relevant practice is another fascinating aspect for me. I’d like to take advantage of this opportunity.

What does “good teaching” mean to you?

I have always valued practice-driven knowledge transfer as a personal learning experience. That is what I’d like my teaching to be about: simulating and dealing with real-life cases. In my opinion, good teaching should improve the methodological, technical and social skills of students.

What did you want to be growing up?

In fact, I considered becoming an architect, when I was little. I first dipped into the profession as a young lawyer advising on construction projects. And all the better that my professorship is now in the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Oh, different things. In my generation, for example, getting a motorcycle license was still pretty common. I like to go on long motorcycle tours to see my surroundings and the people in them from a completely new perspective. Traveling is also a form of education for me.
