What aspect of your research fascinates you the most?
Using new, more sustainable and innovative materials such as ultra-high performance concrete, in areas that were previously unthinkable.
What does “good teaching” mean to you?
When I am in dialogue with my students and I see their faces light up with understanding.
What did you want to be growing up?
Like most, I wanted to become a professional footballer or a pilot, but computers have stayed with me since my C64 days.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Spending time with my family, especially my three children, doing sports – unfortunately far too little at the moment – and working on our home, creating things.
