FUNDING AWARDED TO SYMPOSIUM ON THE SYSTEMATIC MANAGEMENT OF CULTURAL AND URBAN LANDSCAPES
Funding awarded to symposium on the systematic management of cultural and urban landscapes
Wiesbaden, 06.09.2024 - The symposium proposal of the UNESCO Chair, titled "Systematic Management of UNESCO World Heritage Cultural and Urban Landscapes: Applying Heritage Impact Assessment (HIA) in the Contexts of German and Chinese Case Studies", has been awarded a prestigious funding grant from the Sino-German Centre for Research Promotion. This joint institution is supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation, DFG) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).
The scientific coordinators of the symposium are Prof. Kou Huaiyun from Tongji University and Prof. Michael Kloos from RheinMain University of Applied Sciences. The symposium is scheduled to take place at Tongji University, China, from March 17 to 21, 2025. It will bring together over 20 academics and experts to discuss a systematic approach to the management of cultural landscapes in China and Germany, and share key lessons learned.
